the legacy of SunVue Farm

Where the sun always knew to rise on something sacred.

The story of SunVue Farm begins not with pumpkins or pavilions—but with a journey across the sea. In the 19th century, Edward Sheegog arrived from Ireland and planted more than crops here—he planted a legacy. His hands worked the land that now stretches across over 200 acres of rolling Tennessee soil. He raised cows, mules, sheep, chickens, and pigs—and began a line of farmers whose hearts beat in rhythm with the seasons.

After World War II, Edward’s great-great-grandson, John Satterwhite Sr., returned home to farm the land alongside his bride, Jane. Together they built a life upon the same soil their ancestors had tended.

Their son, John Jr., graduated from the University of Tennessee with a degree in Agriculture and stepped into the next chapter of the farm's evolution. With his wife and their three children, the family expanded into hydroponics, greenhouse cultivation, and eventually—agritourism.

In 1989, Christmas trees appeared like evergreen prayers across the fields. By 2016, the farm’s corner pumpkin stand blossomed into something magical: Pumpkin Paradise—a harvest celebration filled with laughter, learning, and local joy.

Today, SunVue Farm is still a working family farm, tended by the Satterwhites, and open to the community as a place of warmth, gathering, and wonder. Though no one knows exactly who first gave the land the name SunVue, it remains as true today as it was then: this is a place where sunrises and sunsets paint the sky with glory.
